We would like to invite you to participate in a message development focus group hosted by the New York State AFL-CIO on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 5:30- 7:30 PM at the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation Offices, 15 Stone Castle Road, Rock Tavern, NY
The focus groups will help develop messaging that better connects both our affiliates’ membership and the general public. The impetus of these discussions was in part a response to the 2016 elections, but also part of a broader conversation predating the elections dealing with challenges such as Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association, and now Janus v. AFSCME.
The New York State AFL-CIO will be hosting a series of focus groups with our Area Labor Federations across the state to facilitate conversations with groups of members from a cross section of the labor movement. These focus groups will help us better understand member concerns and their vision for addressing them. It will further allow us to identify messages that cut through large swathes of our membership, as well as fine tune messaging for regional differences.
Your participation in this focus group Tuesday, May 1, 2018 is important to ensure our overall message incorporates the priorities of our affiliates from all regions and sectors.
